Oczko
A family app for telling each other how we feel. Part mood tracker, part experiment with tarot and AI, made to fit us.
Returning to an old idea
Over a decade ago, my team and I built How Are You App, a mobile mood tracker. Now I have returned to the idea for myself and my family. We want to know how each other is feeling, even when there is no time for a longer conversation.
My role
This time I could make it fit us exactly. I designed how we share moods, the family cards and the evening ritual, then built the app with coding agents. I spent a lot of time on its appearance and how it feels on a phone.
A mood, a glance and a moment to reflect
A quick check-in records mood, energy and emotions. Family members see the states shared with them, and a small eye tells you someone has opened your card. A private journal leaves room for a longer entry.
We are curious about tarot and enjoy its visual style. In the evening, a card and AI interpretations give us a reason to think about the day. Journal notes reach the interpretation only when their author chooses to share them.
A product can be for one family
Oczko is also a creative project for me. I can make choices for a few people I care about and give it the look we enjoy. When an idea helps us share something about our day, I can build it.
Result
A working app for our family. We develop it whenever we have a new idea for it.
Oczko is a private family app. The screens use demo data.
